In addition to Zach’s post earlier about the Red Sox possibly being tainted, another person thinks his name may show up on the list. Bronson Arroyo, who said that he would “not be surprised” if his name showed up on the list of the 104 MLB players that tested positive in 2003. Two other names, David Ortiz, and Manny Ramirez were released yesterday. “But guys like Read the rest of this entry »

It’s pitiful. It truly is a joke to turn the TV on to Fox Sports Ohio anymore. Today is just another punch line in the comedy joke that is the month of July for the slumping Cincinnati Nationals, i mean… um, Reds. I luckily was spared having to think about them today. I only recieved my daily game update that read bluntly: “Reds lost.” With the score afterwords. I got to read about the Read the rest of this entry »

The story of Goldilocks and Three Bears sums this up best. The Phillies thought the deal with the Jays was too much. The counter offer was too little for the Jays. And now Philadelphia found something that was just right. This time, just right was with the Cleveland Indians, (42-59) who traded away Cliff Lee and Ben Francisco to the Phils today. The Tribe, in return, recieved four prospects: Read the rest of this entry »

New trade of the day news comes out of the Windy City, with Boston and the White Sox trading players. Boston gave up Mark Kotsay, who batted .257 with one HR and 5 RBI in 27 games. Chicago dealt away cash considerations, and outfielder Brian Anderson, who had been asked to be traded since the beginning of the season. He is currently batting .238 with 2 HR and 13 RBI. However, Anderson’s wish of starting regularly probably Read the rest of this entry »

Losing six straight is never fun, at all. But losing those six games by a combined 43-20 is just adding salt to the wound. Oh, did I forget to mention the face that two players were placed on the DL? (Micah Owings, and Chris Dickerson) However, with all that, the Reds jumped on the Padres in the first inning, and carried the early 3 run lead into a 6-4 victory at the expense of the crumbling Read the rest of this entry »

Yes, you read that right. Bud Selig continues to review Pete’s application for reinstatement into Major League Baseball. He has been banned for 20 years since he accepted the banishment by Bart Giamatti, in 1989. To get into the Hall Of Fame, the Veterans Committee, the living members in the Hall. You didn’t read this wrong. This is different from yesterday at this time. Ahh, now the shoe is on the other foot for the Blue Jays. The latest trade offer was to send Halladay to the NL East leading Phillies, and for the Jays to recieve in return: starting pitcher J.A. Happ from the original offer, outfielder Read the rest of this entry »

With this guys hitting going through the roof all of a sudden, he’s no doubt going to be my pick for my first ever Player Of The Week. He has pretty much knocked the cover off the ball in the last week, raising his batting average a total of 14 points to creep ever closer to the .300 mark. Overall, the last 6 games (not including Saturday’s game), the now-Cards slugger is hitting Read the rest of this entry »
