Morrow's Player Of The Week-Matt Holliday

With this guys hitting going through the roof all of a sudden, he’s no doubt going to be my pick for my first ever Player Of The Week. He has pretty much knocked the cover off the ball in the last week, raising his batting average a total of 14 points to creep ever closer to the .300 mark. Overall, the last 6 games (not including Saturday’s game), the now-Cards slugger is hitting .483 with 2 homers and 10 RBI.
When he was still with the A’s, he hit the monster grand slam that brought them back to even with the Twins, tying the game at 13. That erased all of the 12-2 deficit the A’s had, if you’ll remember in the blog post “He’s Safe! No…He’s Out?” That night, he drove in 6 on 4 hits. The 4 hits were 2 home runs, and 2 doubles. His slugging that night raised a total of 30 points from .424 to .454. The rest of the week was pretty big also, having three 3-hit games in 6 days.
