Pete Rose In The Hall Soon?
Yes, you read that right. Bud Selig continues to review Pete’s application for reinstatement into Major League Baseball. He has been banned for 20 years since he accepted the banishment by Bart Giamatti, in 1989. To get into the Hall Of Fame, the Veterans Committee, the living members in the Hall. They would have to vote 75% of the 65 members to allow him in.
Already, some Hall Of Famers have some opinions on the subject. The (still, in mine, and most minds) home run king, Hank Aaron said that, “I would like to see Pete in. He belongs there.” A few others were unnamed but said the following:
- “I think a lot of the guys feel that it’s been 20 years now for Pete, and would lean toward leniency and time served. If he had admitted it in the first place and apologized way back then, he’d probably be in the Hall by now.”
- “I know there are still guys who feel strongly against him. And I don’t know if that would change even if Selig clears him.”
This could be a major thing if your a Reds fan, because you would have been waiting 20 years to see this moment, and it coould come very soon.
