Want HS Basketball Highlights? Link To It Here! (09-10 Mini HSBB Preview Inside)

To everyone out there like me anticipating the high school basketball season, you can get your fix of Columbus City League Hoops right here: City League Hoops TV. They have a lot of highlights from last year, including individual specials on Northland players Jared Sullinger, J.D. Weatherspoon, Jordan Potts, and Trey Burke. This is a site I’ve checked out recently a lot, just to watch some clips of some really sweet plays made by players around the City League.
This leads me to give an early preview of my Central District preview, just a few lines about the top three teams in the area.
3. Dublin Coffman- No doubt this team will be improved, and looking for revenge after the drubbing they took at the hands of Grove City in the district final. Center Mike Green is a dominant threat in the post, and should help them roll to an OCC-Central crown. Now sophomore Kyle Molock is going to be the standout offensive point guard, throwing it around like last year.
2. Gahanna- This is going to be the only true team to give Northland a run for their money this year. They have added two South-Western players, in Westland’s Anthony Jackson, a passer first, then scorer, but had to score a lot last year for the below-.500 Cougars . Also, they added Franklin Heights’s big man in Peter Kpan, who dominated the post last year, helping seal a few of the close games last year. Don’t forget about standout Stevie Taylor, who in my book is one of the most dominant players in the area, and should get them the OCC-Ohio title easily.
1. Northland- Oh, come on, these guys are defending state champions, and have almost every one back. The two future Buckeyes in Jared Sullinger and J.D. Weatherspoon will carry this team, and I see them as unbeaten throughout the City League without a doubt, and most likely winning the state again this year. If someone develops into a true point guard for this group, they will get it without a doubt. I don’t want to jinx this team, but I think this group could be considered the best of the 2000s, over some of the Brookhaven teams of earlier this decade. A state title this year would seal that in my mind.
