Glenville’s Wynn Spitting Image of Ginn

In a school that has produced a major quantity of Division I athletws, Cleveland’s Glenville Academic Campus has many more on the way. Shane Wynn is the next offensive catalyst in the long line of names including 2006 Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Troy Smith of the Baltimore Ravens, Ted Ginn of the Miami Dolphins and Donte Whitner of the Buffalo Bills just to name a few.
HS Roundup- Cleveland Glenville Preview

The pipeline to Ohio State continued last season as Ohio’s best inner city school sent to players to the Buckeyes in offensive lineman Marcus Hall and defensive end Jonathan Newsome. Hall and Newsome were two of the top players for Glenville, a school that has sent around 50 players to college in the past six seasons. Returning this year for Glenville is another solid team that looks to improve on the 11-1 season from a year ago.
Knight To Go Into IU Hall Of Fame

Nine years ago, my second-favorite college coach of all-time was fired by then-IU president Myles Brand for breaking a “no-tolerance” policy. But as of today, IU has chosen Bob Knight to be inducted into their sports Hall Of Fame this fall. Others inducted will be: Steve Downing (basketball, 1972-73) Katrin Koch (women’s track, 1989-92),
HS Roundup- Cleveland St. Ignatius Preview

Fresh off a state championship, head coach Chuck Kyle returns a squad as strong as ever after a 28-20 victory of Cincinnati Elder in the Division I State Championship Game. Kyle has won 10 state championships in 21 years under the helm for the Wildcats and 2008′s title was the first in ten years, the longest drought in Kyle’s tenure at St. Ignatius.
Put Baseball Aside, Cape Cod Suffers Major Loss

Always being known for one of the funniest, most outgoing and athletic guys around, Team Cape Cod and the rest of the cape will miss AJ Passalugo, a great kid whose life ended suddenly on August 20th.
LeBron Shows That It’s Really More Than a Game

Roughly a month before the Cavaliers kick off their 2010 debut, LeBron James will have a debut of his own. After winning three state titles, a national championship in 2002 and being named Mr. Ohio in basketball for three consecutive years, the only player to do so, James’ journey of his team through high school will show in theatres all across the country. Five kids that played together ever since their grade school days decided to team up and play together in high school at Akron’s St. Vincent-St. Mary.
Memphis To Vacate Final Four Of 2007-08

In my mind, I’m pretty clear when it comes to now-Kentucky coach John Calipari being slimier than I thought. Today, the NCAA Committee on Infractions ruled that Memphis will be forced to vacate its 2007-2008 games, including all records pertaining to their national championship game run, a game in which they were defeated in overtime by Kansas. This comes after the news came about that
Miami Looks to Bring the Storm to The Shoe in 2010

With the USC Trojans on the schedule this season, it seems that this is the last marquee non conference game for the Ohio State in a few years as this has been a trend for the Buckeyes. After facing off against Texas in 2006, it took two years before USC was on the schedule. Well, the Miami game next season willl be better than this year’s USC game as many have predicted the matchup in The Horseshoe will showcase two of the best teams in the country.
Cardinals/Mariners Add Another Player To Help Cause

After Brett Favre signed with the Vikes on Tuesday, another old-timer signed a contract, this time in baseball however. John Smoltz signed a deal with the NL-Central leading St. Louis Cardinals, after being with the Red Sox for the beginning of the year, going 2-5 with an 8.33 ERA. “He had very little demands,” Cards GM John Mozeliak said about
