On Tuesday night, Hilliard Bradley totaled 35 points in an entire game in a 16-point loss to New Albany. By halftime on Friday, the Jaguars had already scored 38 points, and behind Evan Bell’s 18 points, Bradley (2-1, 1-1) put Franklin Heights away 72-50 Friday night in OCC Capital play. With the loss, Heights (0-4, 0-2) drops their first four games of the year by an average of 23.5 points a game. This is a total opposite of the Falcons team that finished 15-6 last year, putting up massive offensive numbers in numerous games last year.

Heights had the advantage in the opening frame, leading 14-12 after junior guard Jake Forrest made 1 of 2 free throws after time had expired. The 2nd quarter started, and the Falcons held a 16-14 lead with 6:24 left. That would be their last lead of the game, as the Jaguars would go on a 24-8 run after that point, pressuring the guards and forcing turnovers to give Bradley a 38-24 lead into halftime.

With the Falcons using the up-tempo game, the odds of a run are  usually very great. But on Friday, that sort of game hurt them, with Bradley playing very solid and controlled basketball, extending the lead to as many as 21 early in the third quarter. The lead would never shrink below ten in the second half, and actually maxed out at 63-38 with 5:58 left in the 4th. Some of the JV Jags got playing time in the final frame, coming off of their blowout 79-36 win earlier in the night. With the win, Bradley moves themselves back up the OCC Capital ladder a rung, and faces Big Walnut on Friday night.
